Planning a Successful Event
We recently coordinated an event that I would describe as wildly successful. It was a 10th anniversary celebration for a company that wanted to share their success with their employees, family, and friends.
I believe there were several keys to ensuring this event was a success. Probably the most important step is that we began planning well in advance, identifying early on what type of event the client envisioned, the food, activities, entertainment … and things just rolled from there. Early planning ensured that we had plenty of time to make modifications to the plan as needed.
Open communication was another reason for success. The client was extremely involved with planning and we did our best to accommodate his wishes. We were able to find exceptional vendors to provide some of the most delicious BBQ food I’ve ever tasted, a DJ and strolling magician to keep the masses entertained, and, perhaps most importantly, someone with a moonbounce and a huge inflatable slide. These two items, along with popcorn and cotton candy machines, kept our industrious younger guests busy all afternoon so the adults could sit down and enjoy food and conversation.
Adults and kids, employees and friends alike enjoyed this casual afternoon. Truly, the only snafu was the teamwork lacking between the balloons and the blustery breeze. In the end, the client was thrilled and we were proud to have planned such a wonderful, family-friendly event.
